PRIVACY POLICY

1. OVERVIEW

DotX Widgets ("the app") is an Android home screen widgets app built by an independent developer. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it is used. DotX Widgets shows no ads. It offers optional one time Support purchases that unlock nothing.

2. DATA WE COLLECT

The app uses Firebase services for core functionality and product improvement, specifically Firebase Analytics (aggregate, anonymized usage statistics), Firebase Crashlytics (crash and diagnostic reports to fix bugs), Firebase Firestore (to sync some app settings) and Firebase Remote Config (to safely roll out features). None of these services are used to collect your name, contacts, messages or photos, and widget content you configure (notes, photos, names) stays on your device unless a specific widget explicitly requires syncing.

If you buy a Support treat, the app records which one and whether the purchase completed, for analytics. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play; the app never receives your payment details.

3. PERMISSIONS

Each widget category only requests the device permission it actually needs to display real data, and only reads that data to render it on your home screen. None of it is uploaded anywhere. You can revoke any permission at any time from Android system settings, though the related widget will stop showing real data until you grant it again.

  • Location: approximate location for Weather widgets, read on-device only.
  • Bluetooth: connected device name/battery for Bluetooth widgets.
  • Calendar: your device's calendar events, read-only, for Calendar widgets.
  • Exact alarms: to keep clock/timer/countdown widgets ticking accurately in the background.
  • Notification access: used only to detect which media app is currently playing, for Music widgets' playback controls. We do not read, store, or transmit the content of your notifications.
  • Usage access: used only to show on-device storage/data-usage stats for Device Info widgets.
  • Health Connect: see section 4 below.

4. HEALTH CONNECT DATA

Health & Fitness widgets read step count, distance, calories burned, and heart rate from Android Health Connect, only when you grant that access, solely to display those values on your home screen widgets. This health data:

  • never leaves your device: it is not uploaded to us or to any server;
  • is never shared or sold to any third party;
  • is never used for advertising or any purpose unrelated to displaying it in the widget you placed;
  • can be revoked at any time from Health Connect's own app settings or Android's Settings → Apps → DotX Widgets → Permissions, which immediately stops the related widgets from showing new data.

5. THIRD PARTY SERVICES

The app relies on Google Firebase for the services listed in section 2, and on Google Play Billing for Support purchases. No advertising SDK is included. Firebase's own privacy practices are described at firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

6. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

DotX Widgets is not directed at children under 13, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. YOUR CHOICES

You can uninstall the app at any time to stop all data collection. For any request regarding your data, including deletion, contact us using the details on the Contact page.

8. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page.
